I'm still not sure if this one is for me though. I love books set during the Salem witch trials, but I don't like that it's difficult to get submerged in the story. <br /><br />I want to be able to attach strongly to the characters and have them get really involved in the historical dramas, and that doesn't seem to be what happens here. I have felt this way with books before, especially when reading Sarah Dessen novels. Her books always just skim the surface and never delve deep enough to allow the readers to get emotionally involved with the characters. This one seems really interesting, but it's such a shame that the author doesn't dig emotionally deeper into the story. I do, however, like that we can get into the character's minds though.
