Sometimes when I'm feeling particularly crappy or stressed or sad, it can completely taint the way I feel about the book and I feel guilty giving it a rating too. Who's to say I actually felt that way about the book or whether it was my mood? Sorry The Faerie Ring couldn't do that for you. I had a "nice" reaction to it too. But it came the same week as Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and I just don't think anything is going to measure up to that one for me. So I'm kind of prejudiced against this one. I liked the dynamic of Tiki's makeshift urchin family, and the mythologies Hamilton used. But yeah, I can see how this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, as the pacing at points lost me. But still, a good read and I'll be looking forward to the sequel.

Smiles!
LoriLoriStronginhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10764202539292045963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907235505822471522.post-50222649242285575842011-11-12T18:37:36.637-05:002011-11-12T18:37:36.637-05:00I always get in funks.
