Hey Everyone!!
First of all, I just want to say a quick thank you for all the lovely comments you guys left on the post announcing my brief absence, they completely made my entire week!
Now to tell you what's been going on. I wish I had some crazy amazing story for you about a super cool project or fascinating personal information to share about why the blog was down for a bit, but really I was just on vacation. I had planned to do a whole post about it because the husband and I went on a cruise of the Mediterranean with stops in Barcelona, Florence, Rome, Naples and an island off the coast of Spain called Palma de Mallorca, and I wanted to share this information with all of you but when I mentioned my intention to the husband he had a minor conniption followed by a rather paranoid lecture about how I couldn't possibly announce to the entire internet that we were going to be out of town. By the time he was finished speaking, his paranoia had spread to me and I was utterly convinced if I posted such a thing an enormous line of thieves and miscreants would be lined up outside the house to send us off before they ransacked it and stole all my precious books. Okay, so maybe they wouldn't start with the books, but it was a valid concern of mine at the time.
Due to said paranoia, I then decided to be more vague and cryptic in my wording and I apologize for being that way but my mind ran away with me and I didn't know how else to explain why I wouldn't be posting:) While on our trip I took 2000+ pictures, so I'm hoping to go through them in the next few days and post some of my favorites this weekend. The blog will be back to normal tomorrow with new posts every day and I'll have a chance to start visiting and commenting again!
Wow! A lot of pictures. You sound like me. So glad you took such an epic vacation. I bet it was fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! How grand! I love it! I can not wait to see!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your pictures. I loved Rome when I visited last year and Naples sure was interesting! I hope you got to eat a lot of gelato. :)
ReplyDeletewelcome back and I totally understand the vagueness. Sounds like a fun trip :)
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!!!!! Green with envy! I do hope you share your pictures.

ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for the paranoia. Better safe than sorry. The trip sounds fantastic, and I hope you had a fabulous time. :)
ReplyDeleteSound like fun!! It's a great reason to be cryptic. No one messes with the books! ;D
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you are back tho!!! YAY!
Great to have you back Jenny! Sounds like your vacation was amazing. Can't wait to see pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteAWW, WE MISSED YOU, JENNY. <3 :')
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you had fun on your vacation! I don't blame you for being paranoid -- it's easy to catch, and your husband was just being safe! :) Plus, I'd be TOTALLY worried about someone coming in and ransacking my bookshelf too LOL!
That's pretty funny, but actually it's sound advice. I'm so glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteI totally missed your face!!! So glad you're home!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the sweetest, I adore you all! Glad to be home:)

Heehee, I get paranoid about those kinds of things too. Looking forward to the pictures!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic trip! Welcome back!! My husband says the same thing and I understand. Looking forward to your pictures. Missed you!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing trip, Jenny! I can't wait to see your pictures!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I get paranoid too! But I am glad you had fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteNow that was a great vacation and I can't wait to see all the pics.
ReplyDeleteI did that cruise in 2002 and it was fantastic! I can't wait to see y'alls pictures :) The only difference is we went to Malta as our island off the main land! I am so glad you had fun :)
ReplyDeleteWow Jenny. I was on vaca too, but I didn't go anywhere as cool as you. I just went to NOLA for a week and drank my brain cells away.
ReplyDeleteI think I took one picture, on my camera phone, it's not one I'm likely to share. *blushes*
Glad you had a great trip! Will there be a little snark running round 9 months from now? Guess we will see, eh? ;)
P.S. I still must be drunk if I'm leaving totally inappropriate comments like that. LOL
ReplyDeleteLol, well it is good to be paranoid :)
ReplyDeletePeople from here always go to Mallorca, so I know how pretty it is :)
Welcome back, Jenny! I hope you had a relaxing trip. I went to Spain a few years ago- Granada and it was absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a blast! :)
ReplyDeleteHah, you can never be too careful. Hope you had a fabulous vacation! :) Glad to have you back.
ReplyDeleteYay you're back! I missed your cryptic going away post (I was away too, but not on vacation :( ), but I have a paranoid streak that totally understands the need for cryptic statements (you can never be too careful with your books). I'm glad you're back now and I'm looking forward to seeing some of those pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back! Did you have so much fun? The Mediterranean is beautiful, especially this time of year. Cold though. I've been begging Hubby to see Turkey because I hear that its gorgeous! Gah, who am I kidding there are so many places I want to go and see it's not even funny. I can't wait for all of your pictures.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think thieves would totally take books. Do you know how much those suckers are worth!?!?! You done good, protecting them. :D *hugs*
What a wonderful trip, it wounds so cool! My husband never wants me to mention on Twitter or my book blog when he's out of town. I've tried explaining that not many people are going to fly to Dubai to rob us, but he does have a good safety point.
