LIES BENEATH (from Goodreads)

Calder White lives in the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior, the only brother in a family of murderous mermaids. To survive, Calder and his sisters prey on humans, killing them to absorb their energy.

But this summer the underwater clan targets Jason Hancock out of pure revenge. They blame Hancock for their mother's death and have been waiting a long time for him to return to his family's homestead on the lake. Hancock has a fear of water, so to lure him in, Calder sets out to seduce Hancock's daughter, Lily. Easy enough—especially as Calder has lots of practice using his irresistible good looks and charm on unsuspecting girls.

Only this time Calder screws everything up: he falls for Lily—just as Lily starts to suspect that there's more to the monsters-in-the-lake legends than she ever imagined. And just as his sisters are losing patience with him.

  1. Lol fun Post!!! But eReaders are not soulless ;( I am pretty sure my Kindle got a soul the minute I gave it a name! :)
    Happy Friday :))

  2. I love this post idea -- it's so quick and hilarious! My favourite is the response to Green Thumb because I'm a recent Avengers fan and The Hulk is AWESOME ;) That, and how you thought of Lake Superior first since I'm a very patriotic Canadian girl, even though it's also half in the US too LOL... x)

Anywaaays. Jenny, quick! Say the first thing that comes to your mind when I say: book boys! Hehe awesome WA post :') <3

  3. Awsome post Jenny and Anne! I love playing this game just to see what people come up with! Hope you have a great weekend Jenny! :)

  4. LOL- that was cute.....:) Love the Haunted Houses answer!!

  5. Hot chocolate = Delicious! I'm obsessed with fine hot chocolate. I go around the world looking for it. I tried it in three places in NYC, although one was frozen hot chocolate. Yum.

  6. Danny - Thanks! It was really hard to come up with random words. Since I could choose anything it took me forever to pick:) And I love my e-reader too. *pets Kindle*

Mimi - Kaidan! Jace! Ben! Dimitri! Zachary! Ash! I could go on for a while and it could get embarrassing so I'll just stop there:)

Jasprit - Me too! The weirder the answer the better:) Hope you have a great weekend as well!

    Tina - Thanks:)

  7. Alison - Me too! And the Moms got the frozen hot chocolate when they were in NYC too, I was jealous. I'm definitely having some next year:)

  8. I love this idea for a post...definitely clever. I also love that everyone always sighs when thinking of Mr. Darcy. :) Happy Friday, Jenny!

  9. LOVE IT! It was hilarious. And Edmond was stupid.

  10. Blahahaha this is SUCH a funny idea! I kind of love it because you KNOW I would come up with the world's most inappropriate answers ;)

  11. How fun! I love seeing the random places the brain goes with this game.

  12. Christina - How can you not sigh with Mr. Darcy? Love him:)

    Tayte - Hahaha very true:)

Melissa - I know it. It's why I'm such a fan of you:)

    Juju - Me too!

  13. Fun! I don't agree that e reader's are soulless! Fairy Tales Horror stories with a princess sounds about right and I am so with you on the stilettos! Happy weekend, Jenny!

  14. Stiletto = Not in this lifetime --> I completely agree with this! ;)

Fun post guys! I love playing this game. :)

  15. I love how something innocent such as the green thumb turns into the menacing, scary as hell Hulk. LOL!

  16. :) I always loved playing this game when I was a camp! It's so fun!!! I really liked the words Jenny choose and Anne's responses! Especially hot chocolate meaning skiing! Here's one I have : beach=

  17. Haha great fun post. Love that everyone's answer's would be different.

  18. Lol, the Darcy one was the best :)

  19. LOL--it does sound tinny underwater! The word association post is very cool (and I'll be authors love it for its quickness, too!).

  20. Haha! What a fun post, Jenny & Anne! I love Anne's answers. They're funny and cute. :) I think there should definitely be more of these types of posts! They're quick to read and entertaining. Thanks for sharing, girls! <3

  21. I have not have the time to read this book but I must. I love th stiletios comment!

  22. Aw, I love Anne of Green Gables!

I could never wear stilettos. I'm so clumsy I'm pretty sure I'd fall. My heels have to be thick.

  23. Oh I love word associations! This one was fun! I love the Hot Chocolate-Skiing one and I always think of Naked David when I think of Michelangelo. What a fun post Jenny! :)

  24. Interesting word associations! Good idea Jenny! Like it!

  25. Haha! Stiletto - Not in this Lifetime! I'm so on board with that. Word Association is so much fun. I love it. My sister and I can do this thing where I say a word and she knows exactly what I'm thinking. We scare people. LOL Of course, that has nothing to do with word association, but it made me think of it.

  26. <3 Mr. Darcy too! And Anne of Green Gables as the first heroine to come to mind? Perhaps one of the most unique ones I have heard- usually I hear things like Tris or Clary.
