Guest Post + Giveaway: J. Meyers and Imaginable

I have the pleasure of welcoming author J. Meyers to the blog today for a little guest post fun with a This or That List of Random and a short excerpt from her newest release, Imaginable. Imaginable is book two in her series featuring gifted twins Sera and Luke Raine, with book one, Intangible, releasing last year. I thoroughly enjoyed Intangible and am really looking forward to seeing what's in store for brother and sister next!

Would you rather be bitten by a vampire or werewolf (if neither resulted in death of course, just turning)?

Stay up late or get up early?

Stay up late

Read a book once or re-read multiple times?

Once (unless I REALLY love it, and then I’ll re-read the dickens out of it)

Which character popped into your head first, Luke or Sera?

EXCERPT

Luke looked up to find Sera watching him.

“What’s up?” she said.

“Nothing.”

“Luke, it’s me. Remember me?” She reached out toward him as if to shake his hand. “Hi, I’m Sera. We met in the womb? I know when something’s up. Tell me.”

Luke studied her for a moment. She raised an eyebrow at him. He smiled and rolled his eyes.

“I’m just trying something new and it’s not going very well.”

“Tell me.”

“There’s not much to tell. I’m trying to make visions come to me, like on command, and I have no idea how to do it.” He shrugged. “I’m failing miserably.”

“First of all, you haven’t failed—you just haven’t figured it out yet. And second? You will.”

“I better.”

“You will.” Sera grinned at him. “Besides, you keep telling me you’re some sort of genius.”
Luke laughed—the first real laugh since they’d left Muddy Waters. It felt good. “It’s true. I am.”

“Prove it.”

IMAGINABLE

Twins Sera and Luke Raine’s unusual abilities are growing. Sera is healing vampires now, making them human again. And, at times, Luke can actually change the future he Sees.

But Sera’s healing has dangerous consequences, and though Luke is altering the outcome of more visions, he can’t control them yet.

Now Sera is in danger as the dark creatures of the Realm seek to use her. As Luke struggles to master his gift in order to save his sister, he discovers even more about his powers.

And what he learns just may put him in greater danger than Sera has ever been.

  11. I love these short this or that interviews! Thanks for sharing Jenny and J. Meyers! I also love nightime and prefer books to movies, then books to TV, it's nice just to watch one interpretation of a book and not have to wait for the next episode.

  16. Ooh I love the idea of having the power to heal vampires and make them human again. That could make for a very interesting plot! And I have to wholeheartedly agree that cliffhangers are SO MEAN. :-) Thanks for sharing this excerpt and the fun this or that!

  17. Between a vampire and a werewolf, I'd want to be a vampire too. You're pretty much immortal and look hot :) Drinking blood would be a problem though ... on the other hand, who wants to be hairy?

  18. I've heard a lot of good things about this series! I'm a night person too just cause it's quiet enough to finally get stuff done. Although I have to get up in the morning with the kids so I guess I just don't get that much sleep.
And yes, HATE the cliffies and YAY for HEA!

Books like this make me wonder whether the author had any influence from friends and family while writing it.

  27. This or that questions are so much fun! I would totally pick bitten by a vampire over werewolf. Who wants to look like a dog when you change. Plus, there's that living forever young thing that I totally would sign up for. Great interview, as usual Jenny! This series sounds exciting. Thanks for the giveaway. :)
