From Goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Kestrel is an aristocratic citizen of Valoria, a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers. Here, a girl like Kestrel has two choices: join the military or get married. Despite her skills in military strategy, Kestrel’s real passion is music.Which is why she feels compelled to buy Arin, a slave with a talent for singing, at auction. It’s not long before she finds herself falling in love with Arin, and he seems to feel the same for her. But Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for Arin is much higher than she ever could have imagined.
Set in a new world, The Winner’s Curse is a story of wicked rumors, dirty secrets, and games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.
Well, hello there gorgeous cover! Covers that feature a bold type treatment just make me happy. I'm absolutely obsessed with fonts and it's been really exciting for me lately to see cover designers experiment more with type on YA covers than I feel like they have in the past. Combine the stunning cover with a story that promises romance and dirty secrets (aren't those the best kind?) and consider me shamelessly drooling over this book!
This one does sound fantastic! I like the cover, but I don't LOVE it. I do like the title style even though it requires a tiny bit of effort to read it.
ReplyDeleteIt does take some effort, but I love how big the type is and that it's as much a part of the design as the image. I'm a sucker for type:)
DeleteUh oh, falling for your slave, now that has to cause some drama. Interesting
ReplyDeleteHaha yes, yes it will:)
DeleteOOh nice! Such an intriguing cover! Hope you enjoy it once you get it!
