Creativity Contest: Asunder

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a fantastic holiday season thus far! I just wanted to put up a quick post today to share with you my entries for a creativity contest hosted by Bailey at IB Book Blogging and Jodi Meadows to win and ARC of ASUNDER, the second book in the Incarnate series. These lovely ladies are calling it a creativity contest as the entries do not have to be limited to cover design, but rather can include any type of fan art, poems, playlists, and well, anything generally creative. As I didn't want to scar any of you for life by subjecting you to my sad attempts at poetry, I decided to stick with cover design ;-) Below are my two entries!

ASUNDER #1

ASUNDER #2

The original covers for both INCARNATE and ASUNDER are absolutely stunning and would be nearly impossible to compete with, so instead of trying to find stock photos that might have given me a comparable look, I decided to go with an illustrated design featuring the same butterfly theme for something a little different. I'm pretty pleased with both, but at the moment I'm favoring the second design:)

  1. JENNY THESE ARE SO LOOOOVELY. <3 <3 <3 I really hope you get that ARC, because I would hate to see you not get the ARC.... I'm like blown away right now. I think I like the first one better, just because my favorite color is pink, but the second one is beautiful as well. AMAZING. Good luck!!

  4. So pretty! I'm in love with the second entry; it's in purple, my favourite colour, and has a butterfly with faces in it! You should totally become a cover designer on the side!

    1. Thank you! I did a mix of InDesign and Photoshop. I drew the butterflies and the floral pattern on cover 2 in InDesign and then transferred them to photoshop and did the backgrounds and type:)

  9. AAAHH!! You aren't killing me with your bad *evil glare* poetry skills, but you are killing me with jealousy at the moment! These are stunning, Jenny! Love 'em!!! I think the second one suits the real cover better, but I fancy the first one a little more, because I like warm tones more than cold ones. That's the ONLY reason, because they're absolutely gorgeous:)

  12. Dayuuum. Both are so pretty. You just had to choose the two colors I can never decide between, didn'tcha? =)) You're so talented with this kind of stuff. I am so jealous right now. Ugh. XD

Which reminds me... I haven't read the Incarnate books yet! I really should, shouldn't I?

    Anyway, good luck Jenny!

  15. They are both beautiful but I do like the second one better. I like the colors and the man and woman incorporated in the butterfly. Also I like all the butterflies in the second one. I do like the large butterflies in the first one, but the blue one has more of an impact to me. Hope you win!!

  16. Happy New Year, Jenny! You amaze me with your cover designs. I love the first one, especially the lighting effects. But the second has a good sense of movement as well. Off to make more recipes for the Fiscal Cliff NYE party I'm attending LOL.
