Waiting on Wednesday: Burn For Me

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine and is a fun way to see what books other bloggers just can't wait to get their hands on!

Hidden Legacy #1
Ilona Andrews
Paranormal Romance
Releases from Avon on October 28th

From Goodreads:

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

Words cannot adequately express my love for the writing team of Ilona Andrews. They created my beloved Kate and Curran, and though I'm woefully behind on that series, the two of the remain one of my all-time favorite couples. Imagine my excitement then when I learned a new series was on the horizon, one that featured a "darkly tempting billionaire". Yes to any future book boyfriend who can be described as darkly tempting.

Knowing the writing style of these two, the romance in this story will undoubtedly be accompanied by well-placed humor to keep things from getting overwhelmingly serious, and I simply can't wait for Rogan and Nevada to join Kate and Curran on my favorite couples list. As a bonus, this book releases in just a couple weeks, so only mild patience is required!

  8. Haha! This book is so you, Jenny. I can tell that this is an UF you would thoroughly enjoy. I haven't read anything by Ilona Andrews. *hides head in shame*
But I do really love the sound of this one. Who can resist a darkly tempting billionaire? ;)

  11. This might be a series I need to get in on in the beginning. It' so much easier before there are a million books. I wish it was more UF looking that PNR though.

  14. I am SO excited for this! I haven't been a huge fan of the past couple Kate books but I loved the Innkeeper Chronicles and this seems so promising. Plus, Ilona Andrews always delivers even when I'm not 100% on board (like with Kate #6!) so they can do no wrong. Can't wait for this to finally release--great pick, Jenny!
