Waiting on Wednesday: Etched in Bone

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine and is a fun way to see what books other bloggers just can't wait to get their hands on!

The Others #5
Anne Bishop
Urban Fantasy
Releases March 2017 from ROC

From Goodreads:

New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop returns to her world of the Others, as humans struggle to survive in the shadow of shapeshifters and vampires far more powerful than themselves…

After a human uprising was brutally put down by the Elders—a primitive and lethal form of the Others—the few cities left under human control are far-flung. And the people within them now know to fear the no-man’s-land beyond their borders—and the darkness…

As some communities struggle to rebuild, Lakeside Courtyard has emerged relatively unscathed, though Simon Wolfgard, its wolf shifter leader, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn must work with the human pack to maintain the fragile peace. But all their efforts are threatened when Lieutenant Montgomery’s shady brother arrives, looking for a free ride and easy pickings.

With the humans on guard against one of their own, tensions rise, drawing the attention of the Elders, who are curious about the effect such an insignificant predator can have on a pack. But Meg knows the dangers, for she has seen in the cards how it will all end—with her standing beside a grave.

SIMON AND MEG YOU GUYS! They have fast become one of my favorite almost-couples, and I'm hoping this is the book where we finally get to see them together. *rubs hands together in gleeful anticipation* I have to admit that I don't love the sound of Montgomery's shady brother, he's clearly going to cause all sorts of problems, but the Others always handle their business so I know he'll get what's coming to him. Also? That last line terrifies me. I don't want to lose any of my beloved Others! *sobs just thinking about it*

  1. The grave, Jenny, the grave! It's terrifying me too and I don't know if I can deal if any of the Others die here. I'll be devastated!
I'm still very excited for more Simon & Meg though! It will be amazing! :)

And yes, the mention of grave got me so very worried, I don't want to lose any of Meg's pack!!

  3. As usual I'm 2 books behind in this series!! Love it though!

    Here's my WoW

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  4. Yes yes yes yes yes! Almost couple is a good way of putting it, although they sometimes seem more healthy and functional than most 'normal' couples. I SO look forward to this one.

  5. YES! I'm really hoping we finally get to see more Meg and Simon action in this, after four books of painfully waiting for the romance to get sliiightly more attention. I'm so excited for this, Jenny--March can't come soon enough!!

  6. I am new to this series, but I should really check it out. It definitely seems like something I'd enjoy. Great pick!

  7. So happy to see this. I was afraid the series was over!! Yea. Thanks for telling me Jenny

  8. Squee! I hadn't seen the cover or summary for this yet. Please oh please let them get together in this one! And stay happy - no graves for either of them!

  9. I have yet to read the first one. I so need to get started on it. One good thing is that I can (hopefully) binge read the series when I get started. :D

  10. Goodness yes Jenny, I so need this. But at the same time, I won't want to say goodbye to this series yet.

  11. There's something off putting about that cover. Don't get me wrong, I'll read it, but I just don't think this is the same Meg.

  12. I've only read book one but I really liked it. I'm waiting for the final book to be out to read the rest I already have books 2 3 and 4.
