!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple weeks ago I posted about a very cool cover design contest put forth by Spencer Hill Press for Damsel Distressed, one of their 2014 releases. This contest was particularly exciting because the winner earned the design commission, meaning their finished design would grace the cover of the book itself. Cue dancing and flailing. Two of my designs made it to the top ten, and then one of them made it all the way to the final three.

And then that one actually won.

The above design was chosen as the winner by Spencer Hill Press and author Kelsey Macke and I'm absurdly excited to get the chance to work with them on this project. This cover is not the final design mind you, we're going to make a few tweaks to it, but I can't wait to get to work and then share the final layout with all of you.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for my entries in an effort to get me to the final three, and to all of you who left words of encouragement on the blog and Twitter, you guys have no idea how much it meant to me and I would hug each and every one of you if I could!

My favorite design won, ha! ;) I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now, but I guess it's all sorts of happy and wonderful. So proud of you, love!

    !!!!! SOOOO happy for you, Jenny! I believe that was my favorite of your designs, and I recall thinking it stacked up very favorably against all of the other covers so I'm not surprised at all. :-) I'll have to buy it and have you sign it!

    AAAH!!! YESSSSSSS! This is so unbelievably awesome, I'm SO FREAKING HAPPY for you Jenny! This was my favorite of the two you designed, though they were both gorgeous. This one just jumps off the screen. I can't wait until this book comes out so we can brag that one of our favorite bloggers designed it! :-) Seriously, congratulations, this is wonderful and you absolutely deserve it. This cover is better than most of the designs that come out of full time cover design teams!
