Today I'm thrilled to welcome author Johanna Pitcairn to the blog to talk a little bit about her latest release, 32 Seconds. I had such a blast working with Johanna on this cover so I'm hugely excited to finally see it out there in the world, and I hope Johanna's post piques your interest in this story and you all add it to your lists. Be sure and check the bottom of the post as well for all the details on a chance to win!
If you had just $75 and a full tank of gas as protagonist Julie does, what would you do/where would you go?
Hi, and thank you for having me! If I had $75 left in my wallet, no money accessible on the bank account, and one full tank of gas, I’d be pretty pissed off. LOL
If my only option was to run away, I wouldn’t make it very far. Julie Jones lives in California, and her escape plan takes her east, toward Nevada. I live in New Jersey, so my escape plan would probably be north, toward upstate New York. I’d try to drive to a small town, where I know life is cheaper, and I’d make the best of my $75 as I could.
I’d probably look for a job in the nearby grocery store, or restaurant. But this is me thinking practically and like an adult.
If I were seventeen, like Julie, I’d just drive until my tank ran dry, and I’d spend my $75 on unnecessary stuff. I’d probably steal small things, and try to find some generous soul to help me out with food. I’d go to the nearest church even if I’m not religious. I’d be very manipulative, and opportunistic in order to survive one more day.
The third option would be to drive straight to a trusted friend, and ask them to help me out.
Whatever the case, I wouldn’t go very far. It’s hard to get off the grid without any preparation!
But Julie makes it out alive and in one piece. Because material necessities don’t really matter that much where she’s headed.
I hope you enjoy 32 Seconds!

32 SECONDS
To the average onlooker, the city of Los Angeles represents glitz, glamour, and the celebrity lifestyle. But to seventeen-year-old Julie Jones, the city is a vast host of problems she’s longing to get away from. The latest? An unfortunate disagreement with her ex-boyfriend Mark—one that could land her in some serious hot water.
So rather than face the troubles that torment her, Julie decides to run away from her old life and start fresh somewhere new. But her parents aren’t on board with the plan, and she soon finds her bank accounts frozen and her wallet empty.
With just seventy-five dollars and a full tank of gas, the troubled teen is far too stubborn to turn around and head home. So what’s a girl to do?
What Julie doesn’t know is that her travels are about to take her somewhere unexpected—a place where she’ll be forced to come face to face with the ghosts of her past in order to secure her future.
A tale of redemption, hope, and freedom lost and found, 32 Seconds is a thought-provoking exploration into the human spirit and the nature of forgiveness.
32 Seconds will be FREE on Amazon from June 15th to 19th, so be sure and mark your calendars!

JOHANNA PITCAIRN
Johanna K. Pitcairn has dreamed of becoming a writer since childhood--authoring her first novel at the age of nine, and countless poems, stories, and screenplays by the age of seventeen. Later, rather than pursuing a career as a director and screenwriter, she decided to go to law school, driven by her father's opinion that "writing does not pay the bills."
Ten years later, she moved to New York City, which inspired her to go back to the excitement, wonder, and constant change of being a writer. Pitcairn is a huge fan of psychological-thriller novels and movies, and delves into her hopes, fears, friends, enemies, and everything in between in her own writing.
