THE STORY (from Goodreads)
The Hourglass is a secret organization focused on the study of manipulating time, and its members — many of them teenagers -have uncanny abilities to make time work for them in mysterious ways. Inherent in these powers is a responsibility to take great care, because altering one small moment can have devastating consequences for the past, present, and future. But some time travelers are not exactly honorable, and sometimes unsavory deals must be struck to maintain order.

With the Infinityglass (central to understanding and harnessing the time gene) at large, the hunt is on to find it before someone else does.

But the Hourglass has an advantage. Lily, who has the ability to locate anything lost, has determined that the Infinityglass isn't an object. It's a person. And the Hourglass must find him or her first. But where do you start searching for the very key to time when every second could be the last?

MY THOUGHTS
Infinityglass sees the continuation of the battle between those who thirst for power and those who would thwart them, but this time from the dual first-person perspectives of Hourglass member Dune and newly-discovered infinityglass Hallie. Like Timepiece before it, Infinityglass proves to be a bit more complex both in terms of the space-time continuum and with regard to Hallie’s abilities with the rips. There are times when the explanations for how she’s able to close the rips are fleeting and the story moves on before we’ve fully comprehended what took place, but the strength of this final romantic pairing easily pulls us through when the immeasurable possibilities stemming from the disruption of time and space threaten to overwhelm.

Hallie, for all that she enjoys playing games with the few people with whom she’s allowed contact thanks to her painfully sheltered life, is someone easy to like and even easier to root for, her delicate relationship with her father and her deplorable relationship with her mother causing the protective instinct in us to flare up even though she’s perfectly capable of handling herself. Dune is equally likable, a few secrets from his past brought to light to give us a more complete understanding of the scope of his ability and why he works so hard to keep it under wraps. The two of them together have undeniable chemistry, delighting all of us romantics who love to see a relationship unfold even (or perhaps especially) in the middle of chaos.

Though there is some confusion in the final showdown between Teague and the Hourglass team (I’m not entirely sure exactly what happened or why it worked), it’s a pleasure to see the entire cast of characters working together in this final book, making us laugh and swoon and wish for another few books for the remaining characters who have yet to be center stage.

Rating: 4/5

This book was sent to me by the publisher  free of charge for the purpose of a review
I received no other compensation and the above is my honest opinion.

  1. I think I would like to have the ability to travel back in time. I love time travel books and I'm so excited to read this one! The other two had confusing bits for me, it's easy to get a little lost, but I still enjoyed them a lot!

  2. Oh teleporation for sure, this of all the time you could save traveling in an instant!

I really need to reread book two, it has been so long I can't quite remember it all! I will for sure be reading this one though.

  3. Ah I'm so happy to see that you finished and really enjoyed this series. I started the first one some time ago but then stopped. Ghosts are just not my type..
But.. I actually love the sound of it and with all the time travel, maybe I give it another try after all:)

  5. Hourglass team--lol! I'm so glad this was a success for you. This whole series has been on my radar for what seems like forever and to get confirmation that it really does rock and is worth reading, is super awesome! I can't wait to try this.

  6. I love when a trilogy is strong from beginning to end, so seeing how much you enjoyed this has definitely convinced me to give it a try. Wonderful review, Jenny, and thanks for the giveaway!

  7. I'm so glad to see you enjoyed this series all the way through, Jenny! I read and enjoyed the first one, but I wasn't invested enough to continue on. That said, it does sound like the romance adds a tasteful and exciting new twist in this installment, so I'm intrigued. Great review and giveaway, Jenny!

  8. Most people had a similar reaction to this book as you did, Jenny. I've seen a couple of mentions on some of the confusing elements, but most people enjoyed the romance so they stuck through. I'm happy that this was a successful ending of a series for you, Jenny.
Lovely review and thank you for the giveaway! :)

  9. I want teleportation. Time travel just hurts my brain.

This sounds like a solid series--one that was good from start to finish. Hard to find those sometimes.

  10. I get brain cramps just trying to figure out how time traveling works, Jenny! I do like the "X-menish" sound of this series and the romance seems sweet. I'll have to check this series out especially since they are all out and there is no waiting. Score!

  11. I like how this series follows a timeline but each story is told by different people! I can't imagine writing a time-travel trilogy, though. The calculations make my brain hurt.

  12. I think I'd want to teleport anywhere. I'd visit family who live in different cities, go to Paris for a fantastic dinner, see a show in London, check out Budapest, and Shanghai.
    Thanks for the giveaway. :D

  13. Absolutely Teleportation!!! Both would be perfect but of the two, teleportation.

  14. Jenny! I would love to have a teleporter. That way I can travel to any book event I want! LOL

  15. I'm glad to see that you were still satisfied with this final book despite some of the slight flaws you mentioned. And you said that the romance was really good? That would have been probably enough for me too. Lol! I haven't read this series but with this positive review for the final book I might get started on this one sooner! Fantastic review, Jenny! :)

  16. I'd most definitely prefer teleportation.... I wish for it allllll the time!! It's make my life so much simpler and cut down my travel time :P

  18. Teleportation for sure!

Okay, I'm really nervous about this one, so it means a lot that you liked it so much! Although I like companions, the added issue of a very complicated continuing plot has me pretty nervous that I won't remember what I'm supposed to. I'm also a little fearful of focusing on two characters that I don't know very well, and I'm pretty edgy about what is happening to our beloved couples from the first two books. Especially Emerson and Michael! But I do plan to read this one, and I'm glad that the romance worked for you.

  19. I loved Hourglass ... And I never read Timepiece. But I want to! And I definitely want to see how it all ends with Infinityglass!

I love the question: Time travel or teleportation? Right now I'm opting for teleporting so I can get my butt somewhere sunny and beachy.

Also? I miss you. And I love you.

  20. I haven't started this series... :( I've seen it occasionally but I haven't actually seen it around for me to be genuinely interested if you know what I mean. I really want to read it now. So Thank you for the giveaway, Jenny! :)

  21. Teleportation, definitely. I'm definitely a nostalgic person, and I don't know if I'd have the right to mess with the past.

I haven't been following this series much despite having liked Hourglass. It shocks me a little that the narrators/main characters are no longer the same, although I do remember Dune from the first. It's nice that he got to have his own perspective, and even nicer still that in the final battle, all the characters are together (epicness in the making). Shame that it might not have been explained as well as you would have liked, though. Seems like a huge contrast to the exploration of the rips in time and space-time continuum.

  22. Absolutely love this series! Definitely teleportation.

  23. Oh you make this series sound so good and me feel like a fool for not even starting it yet! Oh must start this series.

As for the question... teleportation. No TSA, no baggage to worry about... just go and have fun where ever! :D

  24. I'd like to be able to have teleportation. I want to visit so many places in this world. If I didn't have to pay air fare, that would make it half the cost! Pizza! In Italy of course!

  25. The arch of the girls back on the cover os this one always makes me cringe. OWIE! It's too bad that some of the explanations go a bit to fast for the reader to fully grasp but I am happy to see that didn't really hinder your enjoyment here!

  26. I'm so glad you liked the last book! I'm reading it right now and really loving the chemistry between Dune and Hallie. I just love that I'm able to get inside new characters' heads in each of these and still love the overall arc of the story. Wonderful review Jenny! :-)

  27. Finally, having problems leaving a comment today :) I am wanting that melting clock because I am shallow like that. This series is one I have had my eye on for three years now. I am so happy that it settled out and ended on a high note! Sorry I am a bit AWOL this week, I have company in town :)

  28. I would love to travel through time. Thanks for the giveaway.

  29. Teleport because I have too many what ifs that I would be tempted to change for selfish reasons. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would love to be able to teleport places! Thank you for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Teleportation for sure! To be able to travel anywhere in the world whenever I want? Sounds perfect to me!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Definitely teleportation. Much more useful. Using time travel to change things (or even not) is just too dangerous to be of use to me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think I would rather have teleportation, because I am not really big on finding things out before they happen. It would freak me out too much lol.

    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!

  34. teleportation! I hate driving :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'd take either, or both. Teleportation has the most practical applications but time travel would be great fun. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think I'd go with travel back in time, so I can correct things if I muck up somewhere in my life LOL

Thanks for the generous giveaway, I've only read Hourglass but really liked it and wow the covers are simply AMAZING!

  37. Teleportation since I have a daughter that is away at college and calls me constantly to help with stuff over the phone.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Teleportation!! Man, that'd be so amazing. Think of all the things you could do!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd take teleportation! I'm so indecisive that having the ability to travel back in time would just make me want to go back anytime I made a choice and choose the other option, so I'd rather not have the ability to. Plus, teleportation would just be so awesome in general. I could visit anywhere in the world! And I love traveling, so it would be amazing :)

  40. I would LOVE to be able to teleport. Talk about the convenience. I could work anywhere, travel anywhere...it would be awesome!
