Broken Destiny #1
Jeaniene Frost
Paranormal Romance/New Adult
Releases August 26th from Harlequin
From Goodreads:
In a world of shadows, anything is possible. Except escaping your fate.
Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse—her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who's bound by an ancient legacy to betray her.
Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn't mean he can change his fate…no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy. Together they search for the powerful relic that can save her sister, but Adrian knows what Ivy doesn't: that every step brings Ivy closer to the truth about her own destiny, and a war that could doom the world. Sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side and Adrian on the other. And nothing but ashes in between…
JEANIENE FROST!!!! That's all I really need to know about this book to be honest. I adore Jeaniene Frost, her Night Huntress series was my first foray into the romance genre (though that series is as much urban fantasy as it is paranormal romance), and I fell madly in love with Cat and Bones the moment I met them. I could not be more excited to see what she's going to do with this new book (hell-o dangerously attractive Adrian), and it's definitely my #1 must-have at BEA in a couple weeks. If I could get in line for it now, I totally would:)
I had forgotten that Jeaniene was doing an NA-ish novel. I'll definitely have to grab this at BEA. Coming up fast now! I spent some time today trying to get my calendar organized. So many authors to choose from...
ReplyDeleteI know! Just a couple weeks:) CANNOT WAIT!
DeleteOh I want this one so bad! I'm really curious! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteME TOO! I just couldn't be more excited for this book:)
DeleteI haven't finished The Night Huntress books yet -- sort of stopped after Book 1, sadly -- but I do really enjoy her writing style, so thanks for letting me know she has a new series coming out. I definitely want to be on board for this! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy her writing style Keertana:):)
DeleteI have never read any Frost before, but I have heard good things. This one sounds promising….parallel realms? Yes, please! Great pick, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE her Christina! She's got a great sense of humor and a really easy, flowing writing style. I can't recommend her books enough:)
DeleteI do hope this will be as awesome as you want it to be!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, Jenny!
Me too Pili, me too. I haven't been disappointed by her yet, so I have a good feeling:)
DeleteYou and me BOTH, Jenny! Great pick. Can't wait for this one ;)
ReplyDeleteSO EXCITED JESSICA!
DeleteI'm excited about this book too, Jenny. I only saw it on GR last week and I might have done a little happy dance. I'm so glad to see NA expanding into genres other than contemporary and we all know that Jeanine Frost can write some pretty awesome paranormal books and swoon-worthy guys! I can't wait to read it. I hope you'll get a copy at BEA! :)
ReplyDeleteI share in your happy dance Nick! A new Jeaniene Frost book is always worth dancing over:) I'll let you know if I'm successful in my BEA endeavor!
DeleteBEA :(((((( <---- that's still my face, Jenny. This one sounds absolutely phenomenal though, and even though I haven't read anything by Ms. Frost before, I know how you swear by her works! Colour me intrigued!
ReplyDeleteI adore her Melissa! She's one of those authors I found early on when I really got into reading again, and she can just do no wrong for me:)
DeleteAh yes, I am so looking forward to this one as well. I can't wait to see what else Frost can do with a series.
ReplyDeleteYesssssss. So excited!
DeleteThis sounds wonderful, Jenny! I need to catch up on the Nighthuntress series, but I love Cat and Bones as well. Very hot! I hope this is at the ALA when I go in June. Thanks for putting this on my radar! :)
ReplyDeleteCat and Bones are amazing. I love them. Bones gives Barrons and Ryodan a run for their money ;-)
DeleteI need this book in my hands Felicia. I NEED it:)
ReplyDeleteI'll be in that line with you. I adore Frost and can't wait to read her foray into NA PNR (which we NEED MORE OF! Someone needs to turn one of those good girls into a vicious werewolf or a tatted bad boy into a warlock or something. Make it so.).
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read a single thing by this author. I need to do something about that soon, it seems! This title is new to me, but I like the sound of it, and I look forward to seeing what you think of it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe premise of this one sounds pretty cool. I haven't read anything by Jeaniene Frost yet. Great pick.
ReplyDeleteYes!! You know I'm super excited for The Beautiful Ashes too, Jenny. Squeee! Dangerously attractive Adrian, an ancient legacy, and parallel realm...
ReplyDeleteGIMMIE!!! I'm seriously behind on her books, but that doesn't mean I don't want more! Not that I'm greedy or anything... *holds out hand for book* ;) Yes, you picked a great one for WOW!
ReplyDeleteYES,YES, AND YES!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat?!!!!! I had no clue she had another series coming out. WOO HOO!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any Jeaniene Frost *ducks* , but this sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great cover! And it sounds so good too. Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteNow, where contemporary NA fails to interest me, the paranormal seems to be doing pretty well. I guess the characters don't have to be damaged as badly when they have paranormal/supernatural troubles, lol. This sounds fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteYes!! This is an excellent choice! I hope to snag it at BEA too. I've only read the first two books in her Night Huntress series, but Bones is SO swoony. I hope to read the others soon.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good Jenny. A paranormal NA..woot! Thanks for all the comment love at Caffeinated this week Jenny. I have pneumonia and it has kept me from returning it. Hopefully I will be back to visiting regularly again soon
